The inspo and tons of the best thrifted pieces
The past few runway seasons have ushered in a resurgence of boho (a particular thanks to Isabel Marant and Chloé). Whenever boho style has a resurgence there’s a popular social consensus craving freedom from societal constraints and a desire for creativity. Embellishments, fringe, textures, patterns, flowing fabrics are foundations of the style and connect deeply with creativity and fantasy. Daisy Edgar Jones has gone viral and received praise for her boho looks on her press tour (again thanks to Chloé). Fantasy books catered to women have also reached viral proliferation through word of mouth and “BookTok” which carries similar nostalgia and longing towards creativity. As someone who has plowed through A Court of Thornes and Roses, Fourth Wing, Crescent City, and a Throne of Glass series I am so in and SO LIT. Over the past year or so I’ve noticed my style taking a more detail oriented, whimsical approach and admired looks that embody similar elements.
I also recently saw two TikTok’s praising Anna Sui fall 1998 show. I loved it. Then I saw this TikTok and something clicked:
